Separate Household Supplies From Groceries
A supermarket total can mix food with cleaning, paper, and personal-care items. Splitting those costs can make both plans clearer.

Notice the mixed baskets
Review a few recent supermarket trips. Identify non-food supplies that recur, such as detergent, toiletries, or paper products. You do not need to reconstruct every old receipt to learn the broad pattern.
Pick a simple way to record them
If the distinction will help you budget, place household supplies in their own category. For a mixed receipt, use the item totals when convenient or make a reasonable note of the split.
Plan for restock weeks
Supplies are often bought in larger packs less frequently than food. A higher week may simply be a restock. Compare several weeks before lowering or raising either category.
Put the plan to work
A useful split makes decisions easier, not recordkeeping harder. BillFoldify can help you see the two spending patterns separately.
